Overview
Rolespan uses exactly one cookie — and we mean one. We do not run advertising, we do not sell data, and we do not load third-party tracking that follows you around the web. The only cookie this site sets keeps you signed in to your account. We do not use analytics, preference, or marketing cookies.
This page explains the cookie we use, what it does, and how long it lives.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a site stores on your device. They let the site remember things between page loads — like the fact that you're logged in. Cookies cannot read other files on your computer, access your camera, or do anything else outside the browser context.
A session cookie disappears when you close your browser; a persistent cookie stays on your device until it expires or you delete it. Rolespan sets a single persistent cookie that expires after 7 days.
Separately, Rolespan stores some data in your browser's local storage — for example, to keep you signed in and to cache content so pages load faster. Local storage isn't a cookie: it stays on your device, isn't sent with every request, and we don't use it for tracking.
The cookies we use
Every cookie we set, what it does, and how long it lasts:
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| rolespan_session | Keeps you signed in to your Rolespan account. Set only after you log in, sent over HTTPS, and not readable by JavaScript. Strictly necessary. | 7 days |
This cookie is “strictly necessary” — it can't be turned off, because the site can't keep you signed in without it. Since we set no optional cookies, there's no consent banner to manage.
Third-party cookies
When you make a purchase, you're redirected to Stripe to enter payment details. Stripe sets its own cookies on its domain, governed by its own cookie policy. We don't have access to those cookies.
If you sign in with Google, Google's sign-in service may set cookies on Google's own domains, governed by Google's policies. Those cookies are not set by Rolespan and we can't read them.
We do not embed third-party advertising tags, social-media tracking pixels, or behavioural analytics. If you see a cookie on this domain that isn't in the table above, please report it to support@rolespan.com — we want to know.
Managing cookies
You can control cookies in two ways:
- Browser settings — every major browser lets you block cookies, delete them on close, or wipe them manually. Search your browser's help docs for “manage cookies.”
- Browser extensions — privacy-focused extensions like uBlock Origin or Privacy Badger work fine with Rolespan.
Because our only cookie is the strictly-necessary session cookie, blocking it will prevent you from signing in. There are no optional cookies to decline.
Changes to this policy
When we add, remove, or change a cookie, this page is updated. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the current version. We don't quietly add tracking — material changes get a notification.
